Snapaw
The app that turns the dogs you meet into a photo collection.
Effective: 8 October 2026 · Version 1.1
In short: You don't give us a name, email or phone number — your account is anonymous. Photos you take are processed to guess the dog's breed. Your exact location is never stored; only an approximate area (~5 km). There are no ads and we never sell your data. You can permanently delete your account from inside the app.
Snapaw is built and operated by İkbal Ubade Aslan, a sole proprietorship based in Türkiye, which acts as the data controller. Contact: destek@ubadeaslan.com
| Data | Why | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous account id (random user number) | So your collection stays yours | No name, email, phone or password. No social login. |
| Photos you take | Breed prediction and creating your collection card | In-app camera only; we never access your photo gallery (no gallery permission is requested). |
| Approximate location (~5 km grid) and region name (country/state/district) | Region badge on the card | Exact coordinates never leave your device — the app requests coarse location only. |
| Device info: platform, model, app version | Debugging and abuse prevention | No advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID) is collected. |
| Game data: your cards, breed index (Dex), score | Core functionality | — |
| Abuse-prevention logs (capture timestamps, rate) | Preventing cheating and misuse | Automatically deleted after 180 days. |
| Crash and performance data | Keeping the app stable | Firebase Crashlytics / Performance. |
| Anonymous usage statistics | Understanding which parts help | Firebase Analytics; contains no identifying data. |
On first launch we ask for your birth year. It is never sent anywhere and never stored — it is evaluated on your device only, to enforce the 13+ age limit.
To predict the breed, the photo you took is sent through our server to the Google Gemini API, which returns a breed guess. To be explicit:
AI predictions are for entertainment and can be wrong; they are not veterinary advice, pedigree documentation or an official breed determination.
Data is hosted on Google Firebase (Google Cloud) with servers in the European Union (europe-west1, Belgium). Photos live in Firebase Storage, cards in Firestore. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access rules are configured so that only you can reach your own data.
We do not sell your data and do not share it with ad networks. We only use processors that run the service:
These services are provided by Google LLC (USA). International transfers rely on Google's standard contractual clauses and are limited to what the service requires.
We may disclose data where legally required (e.g. a court order).
Snapaw shows no ads, contains no ad SDKs, collects no advertising identifier and builds no user profiles.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing.
Deletion is easiest in-app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your cards, photos, collection data and account. It cannot be undone.
For other requests write to destek@ubadeaslan.com; we respond within 30 days. Because accounts are anonymous, we may need the user id shown in the app to verify your request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Snapaw is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. An age declaration is requested on first launch. If we learn that data from a child under 13 has been collected, we delete it — please tell us if you notice such a case.
Please photograph dogs only. If other people end up in the frame, avoid exposing their identity, don't trespass on private property, and follow local photography rules.
If we update this policy we will post it here and change the effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
